I’m Still Here!

I want to give a quick, shame-filled explanation for the lack of posts (and, incredibly, tweets) over the last week and a half or so. Between March Madness, work, graduate school odds and ends, March Madness, family gatherings, and March Madness, I haven’t really found the time to write recently. I’m currently on vacation with my girlfriend in Gainesville, Florida, so theoretically I should be able to set aside a few hours to post something. But I make no promises.

In the meantime, I will leave you where I left off: in the hands of Gus Johnson.

Your Daily Gusgasm: March 17th

I think it’s fair to say that this is Gus’ greatest on-air performance. All hyperbole aside, this call really captures the relentless excitement and occasional euphoria that the NCAA Tournament provides. It is impossible for me to watch this clip without beaming.

While the call is positively tame by Gus’ standards, the absolute ballsiness (sorry, there is no other word for it) of the shot more than makes up for it. The fun starts at o:34.

Your Daily Gusgasm: March 15th

The brackets are out. I’ve only just begun my research process, and I’ve already found two games that confound me to no end (UNLV or Northern Iowa? Oklahoma State or Georgia Tech?). Luckily, we have Gus Johnson to provide us with 21 seconds of bliss, distracting us from the fact that our pool money is as good as gone.
