Tonight’s (5/3) Red Sox-Mariners game, Red Sox play-by-play guy Don Orsillo:

“Jose Lopez up at the plate. The Mariners are very strong up the middle with Lopez and [Yuniesky] Betancourt.”

  • Lopez: 85 OPS+, .302 OBP, .263 EqA (all career)
  • Betancourt: 84 OPS+, .301 OBP, .246 EqA (all career)

    … perhaps he meant strong middle infield (i.e. ss and 2nd) and not middle of the order!?? i didn’t see the game so i don’t know for sure though.
