During tonight’s Yankees-Blue Jays game, Blue Jays color man ______ (I have no idea who he is) begins talking about Mike Mussina’s strange, low dip before he comes set with runners on base:
“We’ll see another pitcher tomorrow night who does the exact same thing as Mussina – Ian Kennedy. I’ve never seen anyone else with that sort of motion from the stretch.”
James Shields, starting pitcher for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, who are in the same division as the Blue Jays, and who I’ve only ever seen pitch once, does the exact same thing is Mike Mussina and Ian Kennedy. The Blue Jays’ color guy, who has seen Shields more than I have, does not remember this.
